Pondering with a Purpose

Photobucket

This Week's prompt:  Pinterest
I have been using Pinterest for a few months.  For me there are two main attractions.  First and foremost I use it to store items of interest that I come across as I am on the internet.  These may be favorite recipes such as
 Grasshopper Squares
Or how to tips that I don't want to forget
How to's for project ease
And of course things that caught my eye that one day I might want to make.
Ornament

How often have you seen something that interests you and then in a day or a week remember it but can't remember where you saw it.  With Pinterest this problem is solved.  It makes storing these special things as easy as a click of the mouse.

The other use I occasionally find for Pinterest is to browse and see what others have done with an idea that I have, or if I need inspiration for a project.  However, I usually have more ideas that I could ever create, so this use isn't big on my scale.

I have heard of some who are addicted, and spend hours browsing Pinterest, but I think that I use it for a more practical use, an online storage file, easily organized by boards and pictures.

  1. I can't go on Pinterest until I keep up with my housework. Dangerous!! HA! Happy Easter Marti!

  2. YUMMY... I am going to definitely grab those grasshopper squares!
I also refer back to those items I have 'repinned' to myself....

    Thanks for pondering with me!

  3. I should probably do a little more research on Pinterest but so far I have steered clear except for popping in and out here and there-xo Diana

  4. I find that I don't go on Pinterest a lot because I don't have the time or the desire to look at other people's stuff and decide that I will make it, buy it, care about or want it. Don't get me wrong, I love looking for things that I will make, but a lot of it I will not. I just don't have that much time on my hands.

  5. so agree with you.....it's my online file cabinet. I would rather spend hours reading blogs, than perusing Pinterest. But, I do find when I am looking for something specific how quickly an hour can fly by!
    those squares look so yummy!

  6. That's exactly how I use it. And so far I only have a very few things pinned. I realized that a lot of photos may have copyright issues. Sorta took the joy out of pinning.
