Friday Favorite Things

friday favorite things | finding joy
Here in Phoenix, we look forward to winter and its balmy weather.  Finally the temperatures will be in the 70's during the day.  It balances out the hot summers and their 110+ days.  As the temperatures cool everything gets a fresh look.
One of my favorite things at this time of the year is to watch the oranges ripen.  In just a few days they will be ready to eat.
Now that the weather is starting to cool  down, all the flowers are getting their second wind and doing the fall fling.

And for the picture of the day from
A list--This is page one of my granddaughters Christmas wishlist.

  1. I can imagine how marvelous it would be to pick fresh oranges off one's own trees! I would love that. :-)

Your granddaughter's Christmas wishlist (page 1) took me right back to receiving Sear's Wishbook, and poring over it multiple times as I wrote my letter to Santa. :-)

  2. Love the wish list. This is such a magical time of year for children. I'm sad mine are "too old". That still doesn't keep them from asking for stuff, though. LOL

  4. My kids would do the circling of what they wanted for Christmas also! I could never imagine living in that kind of heat! Or even the 70s for Christmas time. But I'm sure it must be beautiful to be able to sit outside for you after the heat!

  5. The wish list makes me think of when my kids were young and marked all over the Christmas catalog! Sweet memory. Your weather looks perfectly wonderful on this chilly day here in MO.

  6. When we were in FL for a couple of months, my husband loved to pick fresh oranges from a tree, in back of the (very small) condo we rented. :-)

  7. LOL...I remember those wish list days. :) Oranges fresh from the tree may be the only thing I really miss about living in Florida.
