Monday Quiz about Me

                                                      Acting Balanced

Here are the Questions:

1. Which are you better at: Reading, Writing or Math?
I'm pretty good at all of these.  I love to read--usually four or five books a week, and I enjoy writing--I'm an addicted blogger.  I can do the math, but it probably is my least favorite.

2. Tell us a good 'come back' story. Where you were down but were able to reverse fortunes and come out on top.
A few years ago, I had a snow-boarding accident and had to have a hip replacement.  The doctor said I would not be able to hike again.  However with physical therapy and a consistent exercise program, I was able to complete several hikes in the Olympic Mountains this past summer.

3. Which would you rather do: dine or eat?
Eat--I'm a simple person.

4. What is one thing the someone close to you does that just annoys the heck out of you?
My daughter always checks her silverware closely, before she takes a bite, no matter if it is at home or in a fancy restaurant.

And don't forget to add a 5th Question on your own blog so we can answer as we hop around!
5. It was in the 80's today here.  I am planting flowers tomorrow.  When do you do your spring planting? And what will you plant?

  1. Lucky you-we woke up to snow on the ground Sunday morning. Not anything much, but still...it was snow.

    Have a nice week!

  2. No planting for me! I tried doing flower gardens and just gardens a few years back but my allergies don't allow me to maintain them. Thinking I will need to start with a small potted garden to work on allergy fixing. Seems limited constant exposure to allergens have helped me cure my allergies. I now have doggies and can mow the yard with out a mask or shower and not swell or have a breathing attack.

  3. that's an amazing comeback story -- good for you! I'd love to try snowboarding, but not sure my old knees could handle it.

My spring planting really is a waiting game. While it might technically say "spring" on the calendar... I have to wait a)for the ground to thaw to even plant, and b) no more snow fall on the forecast. It has happened that I've planted and we've woken up one April morning to snow on the ground again!! So now, I normally wait until later in May just to be sure.

  4. If I do additional spring planting it's usually in October. I prefer perennials. With my mobility issues I can't do the planting without help and it's usually easier to get the help in fall than spring. With God as my gardener, I have pretty yellow crocuses budding now! :)

  6. I'm not a big planter unfortunately, but I do like to plant a few flowers in March. Annuals usually. It's warm in South Florida year round so we don't have to wait for the weather to change, we can plant at any time.
