Pondering with a Purpose

Photobucket
This Week's prompt is:  Is there a TV Show you just can't live without?
I can't say that there is a TV show that I am addicted to.  In the evening, I do like to watch a bit of TV before I go to bed.  Every night I have favorite shows that all have one thing in common--they are mysteries.  My routine is something like this:
Monday evening I enjoy Castle. Nathan Fillion plays Richard Castle, a mystery writer & Stana Katic plays a police detective.  Together they solve crime with a bit of humor.
Tuesday is the night for NCIS, starring Mark Harmon as Gibbs along with his team of Navel criminal investigators who get the bad guys in a witty, action packed drama.
Wednesday I sometimes watch Criminal Minds. Joe Mantegna and Thomas Gibson star as FBI behavioral analysists, who with their team try to understand the mind set of the criminals in order to solve crimes.
Thursday it's time for The Mentalist.  Simon Baker and Robin Tunney play Patrick Jane and Agent Lisbon.  Jane is a consultant with uncanny observational powers who helps the California Bureau of Investigation solve crimes.
The only other show that I enjoy is on Fox network--Bones.  FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth(David Boreanaz) and forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) are the crime solving duo.

All this being said, I do enjoy these shows, but my life does not revolve around TV.  I enjoy working on my art, but if I am tired by the end of the day, there is nothing like a good mystery to make me ready for dreamland.

  1. I am a Law and Order junkie. Only SVU is left, but I watch reruns of old ones. I also like The Good Wife. I read all of John Grisham novels, and find anything about the law very intriguing.

Seems like you have us all going this morning. I love watching Supernatural. I have watched every single season so far. Not for everyone, but then DH and I love watching it.

Hope you have a gorgeous day sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  5. I DO agree with you on the mysteries! If I watch TV at all, other than sports or my guilty pleasure kids show, I like the murder mysteries. I prefer the ones where you can get to know the main characters quickly, since I don't really follow any shows.

  7. I've never seen any of those shows! I don't watch too much TV either, well more reality shows than regular shows. I enjoy watching the reality shows with my daughter. Most nights I am so tired by 8:00,9:00 I crawl into bed with the TV on, but fall asleep! Enjoy your day!

  8. I watch all of those except Castle... and I've been told that I should really catch up on that one.

I completely missed The Mentalist on my blog --- and that one, to me, is so much smarter than all the other cop shows.

  9. I don't watch any of your favorites. Currently, I'm addicted to Downton Abbey and then I'll be in withdrawal for another year. I also watch Once Upon a Time. Truly, I probably would miss Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy if anything ever happened to them, which is unlikely. I hope. Other than that, I'm a radio gal. It's easier to listen to the radio and do handwork in the evening.

  10. Oh I hate to admit this, but I love the 2 reality singing shows, American Idol and The Voice. I guess I love to see dreams come true!

  11. Ah....that just shows how long I've been away from TV! I have never seen any of those shows. I have heard of a couple of them because my aunt watches them, but we don't even have cable....only view things through DVDs and Netflix!

    Have a great evening, Marti!

  12. I don't watch TV so much anymore (except the Batchlor on Mondays) but I do watch movies at night before I go to sleep. I am also addircted to Downton Abbey. I got the series from Netflex..and now..there is no more for awhile.

I am playing catch up again..and wanted to say that I was so impressed with your Love book. Precious!! How in the world did you do that.
I bought a similar one from someone but nothing half as sweet as yours.

  13. I agree completely with your statement in the end of the post! Funny that we have the same shows in our TV. Also they repeat "Sex and the City" right now and I enjoy it, though many jokes are lost under Russian translation.

  14. definitely agree with you about the mystery. I cannot veg in front of the TV - my mind still needs something to work on.
I do really like the Mentalist too - I only catch it every now and then. I try to have one night without TV. more time to read or blog.

  15. I LOVE Castle! Have you watched The Finder? It is kind of a Bones spin off (he was in one of the Bones episodes last year). We also like White Collar.
