Wednesday Hodgepodge

1.  So, when did you last take a walk in the woods? A stroll along the beach? A drive going nowhere in particular in the car?
The last walk in the woods was this summer when I hiked trails in Olympic National Park in Washington.  It reminded me of Hawaii.

2.  Are you sending Christmas cards this year?  About how many do you send?  Photo card or something more traditional?  How do you display the cards you receive?
I make my own cards and usually send a couple of dozen.  This year I used Beatrix Potter images--a series of four.
I hang the cards that I receive on a room divider in my dining room.

3. What's a word you've heard too much of in the past week?
Fiscal Cliff, political posturing--you get the idea.

4. December 13th is National Cocoa Day-are you a fan?  Plain or flavored?  Marshmallows or no marshmallows?
I do enjoy cocoa most anyway that it is served, probably without marshmallows.

5. What is something you do to help alleviate the hectic pace of the Christmas season?
Start working on things for next year, right after Christmas, and simplify everything from decorations to gifts.

6. Besides jewelry, what's a favorite sparkly-glittery item in your home or closet?
I have a couple of snow globes that I keep out year round.

7. Share a favorite line or two from any Christmas carol.
Yea, Lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be glory given;
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing:
O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord.
8.  Insert your own random thought here.
So, all the shopping is done, and then this morning my daughter IM's me that she has put up a wish list for the grands on Amazon and hopes that I will take a look.  Hmmmm, I wonder what that means.

  1. I love that hymn too!

    Wow-a list at this late date? That's a tricky one.

  5. Beautiful cards!

    Late for a list for sure. I thought you only sent a list that late to a guy? :) (I used to go shopping with my Dad for Mom every year on Christmas Eve!)
