Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What do the words 'freedom' and 'liberty' mean to you? Does your mind go more in the direction of not being persecuted or discriminated against or does it head in the direction of doing what you please?

When I think of freedom, I think of liberation from the power of another.  As a country when America was freed from the authority of England, personally when I became a Christian and was freed from the bonds of sin.

2. Nathan's sponsors a hot dog eating contest every 4th of July. Last year over 40,000 people attended the event and almost 2 million watched it on TV. The winner ate over 60 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. How do you like your hot dogs?
Burnt on the grill, then with French mustard, none of that cardboard tasting stuff. And two would be my limit, and only one bun.

3. If you were going to enter an eating contest what would be on the menu?
Seafood

4. Do you run your house more as a dictatorship or a democracy?
Since I am the one who both makes the rules and carries out the duties, I pretty much do what I want to.  Its a good thing that I don't like my house to be too messy, or I would have to crack the whip on me.

5. Where was your favorite summer place when you were a kid?
The only trip we took when I was a kid was to visit my grandma in Utah.  It was a change, but I truly loved being on the ranch in the mountains.

6. Do you have a guest room? Would you want to stay there?
Yes, I have a guest room and it is nicely decorated.  I could stay there.

7. Next Wednesday America celebrates her independence. Do you have any special plans for the 4th of July? If you live outside the USA when and how does your country celebrate its own patriotic holiday?
I will probably watch the fireworks from my front yard.  The Brewers spring training stadium is just a few blocks away, and there always is a nice fireworks display.

Hair style I wanted
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I am very upset!!! I had a picture of how I wanted my hair cut--just to the bottom of my ears, and the stylist, and I am using that term very loosely, cut it way too short.  It is about a half an inch ABOVE my ears, and I have to go on vacation looking like a boy!!!  The only good thing is that I can shake my head and it will be dry.
Hair style I got

  1. oh no. Sorry about your hair cut. Was this your regular stylist? did you tell her you were displeased?

  2. Well, that's annoying. I got a bad cut last time-too choppy. I am due to go back for my highlights and a trim but I may just skip the trim and let this mess grow in. My hair is tricky because I have a natural wave and its very thick. It requires just the right touch and I haven't really found that here although I'm on my 3rd stylist.

    Enjoy your travels anyway!

  3. I'm so sorry that your hair cut didn't turn out like you'd hoped for. I never thought about seafood as my answer to #3 - I could eat a ton of fresh peel and eat shrimp (although I'd lose too much time with the peeling). Yummy!

  4. aww, bummer on the not-quite-right haircut ... but like you say, you can just "wash and wear" and not care all your vacation! AND as my mother always said after a bad haircut, "it will grow out!".

  5. A bad cut, too short, will grow out and that stylist is a mistake you never have to make again. Still, if you bring a picture, jeesh!

I got so lucky when I found my first Ohio stylist, who has been my stylist since 2009 now. I was getting my very long hair cut for Locks if Love and brought 2 photos that I wanted a style a cross between. I knew I needed to cut it shorter than I'd like for the donation, but she did a great job. But your stylist didn't really come even close to the photo. I'm sorry that happened, but yes, it will grow back and on the bright side; it'll be cooler for summer!!

  6. Sorry about your haircut not going as you wanted. The good thing is it will grow, but I am sure not as quick as you would like. Your summer water park looks like such fun, too bad it shut down.

  7. Sorry about your haircut! I'm sure once it grows in some it will be much better. I cannot even watch the hotdog eating contests! Enjoy your day.
