Pondering with a Purpose

Photobucket
This Week's prompt is:  Favorites
This week Brenda prompted us to examine Favorites.  In her post she applied it to family.  I had three biological children, and one chosen child.  Each one was special in their own way, but each one also brought me heartache at times.  But because I loved them so much, I was able to look beyond the disappointment and cherish their good.

I also have taken in teenagers for as long as I can remember--those good kids who were experiencing hard times.  I felt that I was able to offer them a quiet environment and council while they tried to figure out their lives.  And I find that I am still doing it--my grandson lives with me, and also one of his friends who has sort of lost his way.  I am proud of their accomplishments to get their lives moving in the right direction.

I believe that each of us are unique in God's eyes, and each of us has a special purpose.
1 Corinthians 12: 14  Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.15 Now if the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
So, I have to say that each member of my family is my favorite in special ways.

  1. Your grandson is lucky to have a soft place to land as is his friend Sometimes thats all that is needed to get on the right track I also know that when we open our hearts to those in need we are blessed right back.
