These are remembrance of my favorite things this past week.
This is one of the best pictures of all times--not beautiful nor dramatic, but it is the picture of a miracle. My grandson who was severely injured Christmas Eve, was in ICU for three days, now one week later standing by his truck.

What to do with those left over pears, why make a pie! Added lemon zest, a touch of cinnamon to the flour and sugar, yummy.

I took photos of my husband's totaled car a couple days after the accident. The car looked worse than I remembered when I went to the scene to pick him up. When I saw the car the first words I uttered were "Oh thank God." It wasn't at all the damage to the car, but I was possibly inches away from being a widow. If the impact had been a few inches closer to the door, it would have been much worse. I think of it as a photo of God's blessing. So, with that thought, I think the photo of your Grandson and his car truly is a beautiful photo!
And I can't agree more about the pears - the pie looks wonderful!
The pear pie does look tasty! Pears are my favorite fruit, though I'm not sure if I've ever had a pear pie. So glad for the miracle in your family! It's wonderful to see your grandson standing beside his truck just one week after being in ICU and everything.
