Today's Special Holiday

Every once in a while I check to see what we can celebrate on this day.  Today's certainly doesn't represent me, but I think I know several people who might be the holiday's champion.

Sourest Day

October 25th, 2011

Today is a day for the grumps of the world. The curmudgeons, the cranky pants, the sourpusses. Who says you have to be cheery all the time? On Sourest Day we see the balance in life and nature. Without the sour there'd be no sweet.I will agree that the sour does have its purpose--to intensify the flavor, to make the sweet even better.  And you have to admit that this lemon on my tree is pretty cool.  So I salute today's celebration--I think I will make a lemon pie.

  1. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I like the picture of the lemon on your tree. I will be so glad when our oranges and lemons are ripe. We have blood oranges and they are my favorite.
I am glad my chicken stories made you laugh. I already have another one about that silly chicken. I will have to sit down and write it out soon.
    It is nice meeting you,
    Kim

  2. At first I couldn't think of why we should celebrate sour day until I read your line that it makes the sweet taste sweeter. Good one. Hope you had a great day!

  3. This was a great story and so true - is it really sour grump day? Think I'll make lemonade!
