Friday's Word

Every once in a while, I like to choose a word, and contemplate what it means to me.  I note 1.--the first thing that pops into my mind, and then maybe 2.--I think a little more.

Today's word--Opportunity  1. chance to help
2.  A favorable occasion, a chance to work toward a goal.
As a language lover, I looked up the etymology, its an old Middle English word from Latin meaning convenience.  Interesting transformation!
I am thankful for all the opportunities I have had--a loving family growing up, a chance to get an education, being able to live in France, the chance through the years to take in teenagers until they could get their bearings.  With the opportunities there comes responsibility.  I hope that I have given as generously as I have received.

For you, what comes to mind when you think of opportunity?

  4. opportunity=convenience? I thought that was very interesting. God has been providing me many opportunities over these last two years to grow and learn but I don't feel any of them have been convenient! haha.

Thanks for visiting my blog and your comment. I understand the discouragement of not seeing any change. I will be praying for you.
