Meet me on Monday

Acting Balanced
1. Where do you go to get your news?
I try to watch the news on TV at 5:30, or 10:00 but usually fall asleep five minutes into it.

2. What Olympic level skill do you have (e.g. One could be a world-class paper clip bender)?
I have won the gold several times for jumping to conclusions.

3. If I say the word, 'intellectual,' what do you think?
A person who is well versed and knowledgeable in the deeper subjects like math and science.

4. Who in your family do you look the most like?
I most resemble my dad, except I have more hair.

5.  Now a 5th Question of my own so we can answer as we hop around!
School is beginning--does this make you happy or sad?
I am happy to see my grands learning all sorts of new things, but I am sad about all the early morning traffic I have to deal with on my way to the gym.

Patience

Patience is a virtue God can help you learn.

Psalm 27:14 Wait patiently for the LORD.  Be brave and courageous.  Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. (NLT)

Retrospection

Yes vacation is over.  For two weeks, I visited new places, experienced new things, challenged myself, meditated, relaxed, visited my oldest daughter, caught up all the happenings of two of my brothers, and my Oregon sister.  But I was ready to come home.  After a delayed flight, I landed at night in Phoenix where the evening temperature was just over 100.  My house needed care--there were unwashed dishes, stuff that the puppy had brought in from the back yard and the roll of toilet paper that she had such fun demolishing.  (My grandson proved not to be a great housekeeper.)  There was a suitcase to unpack and laundry to do.  Then three birthday parties to shop for, a car stereo to replace--mine was stolen, a doctor's appointment and groceries to buy.  And I have only been home two days!  Good thing that my batteries were recharged or I would have been ready for the loony bin, or in other words back to reality.

Pondering with a Purpose--Legacy

Photobucket
This is Brenda Youngerman's weekly hop where she posts a prompt and you get to write to it on your blog - come back and add it to her linky and then we all get to go read what you wrote!
This Week's prompt is: Legacy.  What is it that you want to be remembered for...

In order for me to decide what I want to be remembered for, I first must have some introspection--What kind of person am I, and what is important to me.  Of course the first thing that comes to mind is that I am a mother, and I have tried to be a good one, even though I know that I have failed at some things, all of my children have grown into wonderful adults.  I want to be remembered as a person who loved her children beyond words.

I am also a person who tries to help others.  I would like to be remembered as one who was willing to give of myself in order to assist others on their life's journey, sharing my experience and knowledge.

I also have the heart of an artist.  My art projects express my view of life and those things that I think are important.  I hope that when others view my work they will be able to enjoy what I enjoy, and are made more aware of the world according to me.

So, my legacy, I hope, will be to be remembered as a caring mother, an empathetic friend, and an artist who preserved bits of life in story, verse, and picture.
