2. A favorable occasion, a chance to work toward a goal.
As a language lover, I looked up the etymology, its an old Middle English word from Latin meaning convenience. Interesting transformation!
I am thankful for all the opportunities I have had--a loving family growing up, a chance to get an education, being able to live in France, the chance through the years to take in teenagers until they could get their bearings. With the opportunities there comes responsibility. I hope that I have given as generously as I have received.
For you, what comes to mind when you think of opportunity?
The first thing that pops into my mind when I think of the word opportunity...is a chance. Then, possibility. Good word!
ReplyDeleteI think of opportunity as a gift! sandie
ReplyDeleteFirst thing that came to me was "open doors." Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteopportunity=convenience? I thought that was very interesting. God has been providing me many opportunities over these last two years to grow and learn but I don't feel any of them have been convenient! haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and your comment. I understand the discouragement of not seeing any change. I will be praying for you.
